MQL - Near-dry Machining Introduction

Near dry machining is a recent technology designed to replace traditional coolant and pure oil flood ystems in machining environments.

A controlled compressed air stream carries minimal quantities of cutting oil in an “aerosol” format to the cutting surface.

Internal

The lubricant is feed through the rotating machine tool spindle and the inner channels of the tool.
For Internal Aerosol particle sizing is important to allow successful transport of Aerosol to the Cutting surface.
Large particles will not make is through the tool or along long sections of internal piping.
