SPINDLES

Calculation of lubricant consumption during bearing spindles bearing lubrication

Mandrels are mechanical parts that operate at high speeds during the machine tool machining processes. To meet the increasing production demands of these machines, it is necessary to supply a minimum amount of lubricant in a calibrated and constant flow in order to increase efficiency and service life.

REMARKS AND ADDITIONAL NOTES
The lubricant values calculated with the previous formulas have the indicated value and in any case are valid for:
- Automatic Plant
- Continuous service
- Normal operating conditions

Please note that this volume may be affected by heavy-duty operating conditions and in any case by the following factors:
- Impact and/or Heating
- Speed of the part to be lubricated (number of revolutions or number of strokes per hour)
- Specific pressure between contact surfaces
- Presence of dirt, water ingress, contaminants

It is possible to apply corrections to the lubricant supply (service factor) in the presence of special conditions, due to environmental situations or specific to the part to be lubricated. Specifically:
- 0,5 for intermittent service
- 1.0 for continuous service (considered in this specification)
- 2.0 for medium-heavy continuous service
- 4,0 for heavy-duty continuous service
